Facepage is up!!

We're very excited to say that the particularly attractive Lorea has put together a beautiful facepage for the project, which everyone can now easily get to at myhomeyourhome.tk!

Go take a peek, let us know what you think, and get ready to get involved!

  1. Can we get the blog to feed right into the frontpage in some fashion?

    Would we want it to?
(Sometime you can set RSS reading up to just display the title or a portion of the post)

Would we want to include the comments feed?

Or would feeds be to variable? Is the frontpage to be something solid and introductory?

    Target audience?
I'd suggest newcomers. Perhaps the link to the wiki can actually be to the welcome page of the wiki (doesn't exist yet, but needs to be made. to introduce people to the idea, and to tell then where things are.)
Does 'talking'/writing happen outside the frontpage?
That makes the most sense to me.

  2. For some reason, when I started scrolling the frontpage, I felt like the grey background should be staying still (like the content is floating above a stationary background). I don't know why, but it would be a neat effect. and feels appropriate. Would that be possible?

Perhaps a subtle dropshadow on the content pane as well?

  3. I don't see a way to comment on that page, but on the 10:1 model size query, standard dollhouse scale is 12:1, or 1 foot = one inch. That'd let you repurpose off-the-shelf furniture and such if you took the model further.

  4. Thanks Dan:) We ended up settling on one tenth, but it's nice to know that the furniture will be within reach for using. We really appreciate all of your thoughtful feedback.

  5. I'm kinda put out by the static information on the frontpage. I feel that it is for conveying updating information, or for linking to interesting/current parts of the project. As proof of concept the posts with the images and whatnot are ok, but I'd eventually like to see that adjusted to either read out part of the rss feed from the blog, or to just map out access to the various parts of the project (Perhaps a welcome message, and a 'start here' article/walkthrough)
