Avoiding Mass Extinctions Engine

A super-CO2-calculator for everything.

A wiki containing information, algorithms to calulate CO2 consumption, and data from as many sources as possible.

They seem to just be starting up, and targeted towards large companies over individuals, but it's a neat idea.

  1. This is a brilliant idea. I know that at Emily Carr University, we have set up a bunch of administrative committees etc. to try to make the school more "sustainable," because the government has mandated that all publicly funded institutions must be carbon neutral (by 2011, 2012..?) Unfortunately, it has set no guidelines for how this will be measured, and has provided no funding to help the institutions change their setup. I believe that we will start paying.. someone... for our non-neutrality soon. Does anyone have more details?

Anyway, open online systems are great ways to develop consensus based guidelines.
